WE WOULD like to give advance notice of a concert by the Yetties to be held in aid of Children of Fiji on Friday, September 10 in the Savill Hall, Cattistock.
As many of you will already know, the Yetties are retiring very soon, so this might well be your last opportunity to see this highly acclaimed local group in concert.
Tickets cost £8 and can be bought by contacting us.
We realise that the concert is still several weeks away, but tickets are already selling quickly and you are advised to book in as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
- NEXT SEASON (2010/11) will see Maiden Newton Youth Football Club enter two teams into the Dorset County Mini-Soccer League. These are the under 9’s (current Year 3‘s) and the under 11’s (current Years 4’s and 5‘s).
However more players are required. If you are currently in the above years and are interested in playing football in a fun and friendly football club, then the organisers would like to hear from you. The team can be mixed, so both boys and girls are welcome.
All coaches are FA Certified and have been CRB checked.

- THE DATE has now been set for next Evershot Wakky Races. These will take place on Sunday, August 22. This is the good news.
The bad news is that this will sadly be the final Wakky Race day.
On a more positive note, this one will be an especially good event.
The weather has been ordered and so have the beer, the hog roast and the fish and chips.
Many of the old favourites will feature this year, along with some from the first ever Wakky Race day.
There will also be a great new game dreamt up by one of the youngest helpers. Adam Cardale is only six years old, but he has come up with a real cracker!
All monies raised this year will go towards putting the pavilion in good order, so do come along and bring lots of friends, preferably thirsty and hungry ones.
Training should really have started by now if you want to pick up the trophy for the last time Places will be in short supply so you will need to register as soon as possible.
The event takes place on Evershot Cricket Pitch More information can be found on www.band-on.co.uk or by connecting with Festival of Wakky Races on Facebook.
