THIS brightly coloured visitor caused a stir at Weymouth Golf Club.
Golfers were surprised when the yellow cockatiel flew on to the balcony at the Links Road Club and landed on bar manager Heather Curtis’s shoulder.
She said: “Suddenly this little yellow cockatiel with orange cheeks flew into the golf club.
“He came to the bar for a drink.”
The bird then flew around the bar and Mrs Curtis and others spent 20 minutes trying to catch him before she took him home.
Mrs Curtis added: “He’s been flying around my lounge ever since.
“He’s quite happy sitting on your shoulder or finger but doesn’t want you to stroke him.
“He doesn’t hurt you or anything.”
The cockatiel flew into the club on Wednesday afternoon. If you own the cockatiel or have any information about where he came from please call Arron Hendy at the Dorset Echo on 01305 830981.
