THE Echo has reported that patients have won their battle to get vital painkilling injections.

My wife received her first injection over 18 months ago and was told that she could have the injections twice a year.

She has been in regular contact with the clinic as her condition has worsened.

My wife was assured that her name was on the waiting list and at the latest update she was told that she should receive her second injection in June this year.

She was one of the 50 patients who contacted Diana Smith to support her cause. This week my wife received a phone call from the pain clinic advising her that as she had been on the waiting list for so long she had to be re-assessed.

She now has an appointment to see another doctor at the beginning of August when the whole process will start all over again.

So in one move my wife’s name has been removed from the waiting list.

This is how the PCT is addressing the issue. Does the NHS and the PCT take us for complete idiots?

This is an absolute disgrace.
