ON behalf of the members of Weymouth Division of St John Ambulance, I would like to say a big thank-you to the local musicians and the public for the very generous collection made on our flag day on Saturday, June 26. We raised £1,053.32.
The musicians who helped us were Norman Stagles (guitar and vocals), Alan Smith (guitar), Roger McGhee (bass guitar and vocals), Jason Hodder (keyboards), Nigel Coles (drums), Matt Russell and Wesley Tetzner (guitar and vocals), and Ken Watkins (guitar and vocals). We couldn’t have raised so much without their help. I would also like to thank the members of our division who helped with the collecting and not forgetting the Badgers.
As a volunteer organisation we rely on public donation to maintain and upgrade our equipment, and to ensure our training is up to date, enabling us to continue with our public first aid duties in and around the town.
These funds also help us to train our cadets (10 to 18-year-olds) and our Badgers (6 to 10-year-olds), who are all keen to learn first aid.
Ann Stagles,Divisional Treasurer, Wyke Regis
