I, for my sins, had need to go to the TIC on Friday.
I guessed correctly that with the Spirit of the Sea event the car park in front of the Pavilion was out of bounds so went in by bus.
It’s a fair walk from the statue to the Pavilion on a hot day for an OAP and when I got there I was disgusted.
How can the council call a couple of desks stuck in the foyer an information bureau?
This is especially so as it is also sharing the desks and space with the theatre booking office?
I call on our councillors to go in by bus, take the walk and look at the set-up and then ask themselves what impression this makes for our visitors.
If we cannot now have use of the original building until later in 2011 then why not use a nice big caravan, like Haven might no longer have use for, sited on the seafront near the bus stops?
I think the persons who were responsible for the appalling decision should resign.
