A LAZY day in the sun was enjoyed by families, footballers and music lovers at the Big Grove Summer Festival on Portland.
Hundreds relaxed on the grass in the Young Offender Institution stadium off Grove Road – also known as ‘the bowl’.
Bands played all day on two stages with a football competition held in the centre of the event and stalls and children’s entertainment spread around the edge of the arena.
The youngsters had an inflatable slide and bouncy castle to keep them busy and the Weymouth Taekwondo Club were among the performers.
The stalls also included plants, flowers and local vegetables, jams and chutneys with venison and bunny kebabs and burgers on offer.
