SESSIONS in which people of black and ethnic minority backgrounds can share their experiences are coming to Bridport after successful focal groups were held in Dorchester.

The South West Dorset Multi Cultural Network, in partnership with the Dorset Race Equality Council, has secured funding from the West Dorset Partnership for people to give their views on public services.

Services such as Dorset Police, West Dorset District Council and Dorset County Council will be scrutinised by participants.

The sessions will run on Monday, July 12 and Monday, July 19 in the Bridport Arts Centre Café between 4pm and 6pm.

They are suitable for all ages, with a Dorset cream tea provided for participants. Travel and childcare costs incurred in attending the meeting will be repaid.

Anne Marie Vincent, chairman of the network, said: “We are inviting anyone who lives in the West Dorset area to come and give their views on services provided.

“We intend to present the findings at an event in October, to which all of the main public authorities and services will be invited.

“The network will provide a list of recommendations for providers of services, based on the information we receive through the many focus groups.”
