After ten minutes of witnessing the armed services taster session perceptions changed.
Adam Jones, 15, from The Wey Valley School, thought the activity would be physically strenuous but to his amazement the session leaned more towards the theory aspect and the current war in Afghanistan.
Adam said: “When watching the news, we are flooded with the deaths of our soldiers, but it’s not until today that I realised how well they are doing over there partnered with the local Afghan army, to help the citizens who live there.”
Adam’s perception of the army has changed after taking part in this course.
He has much more respect for the soldiers out there risking their lives and helping the local community.
