ALL aboard for a bus rally.
Organisers are gearing up for the fourth Weymouth Vintage Bus Running Day on Sunday.
A total of 60 vehicles old and new are heading to Weymouth College, where there will be a static display of buses, engineering exhibits and trade stands.
Up to 10 vehicles will take passengers to local attractions and mystery tours.
The event is the idea of a group of Dorset and Devon bus enthusiasts.
The Dorset Transport Circle used to hold an event at Lodmoor.
Co-organiser Robin ‘Woody’ Woodcock, a former Midland Red bus driver who retired to Weymouth, said people from all over the country enjoyed coming to ride on old buses.
He added: “We’re at maximum capacity this year with 60 vehicles.
“Tours we have lined up include Portland Bill, Bowleaze Cove and a circular route via Preston and Dorchester Road with a stop at the New Inn.
“We also have a mystery tour and a service to the Nothe Fort.”
A list of vehicles on show can be seen on the website and include buses which used to operate in Dorset.
Mr Woodcock’s own vehicles, a Leyland Leopard Duple Dominant and a BMMO23 Midland Red 5919, will also be there. Mr Woodcock said: “We’re grateful to receive full support once again from First Hampshire and Dorset.”
It starts at 10am with the last bus due back at 5pm.
