ST John’s Primary School teacher, Joanne Smith is getting a name for spotting competitions for the children to enter, enhancing their literacy skills!
Once again she entered some of her pupils in a writing competition for the New Horizons Book Award.
Well done to Joanna Boyd, Emma Dobson and Brooke McGuire, who went on to win a set of books.
Pupils are currently involved with the school’s Creative Arts Week, which will culminate in displays and small groups of musicians playing in various corners of the school, creating a spectacular and interesting event for the children and their parents.
ST John’s School Summer Fayre is set for Saturday, June 12, 11am-2pm.
PTA organisers aim to raise funds to build a shelter for the older pupils, so they are hoping for lots of support for this family event, featuring stalls, games and other fun things to do.
A fancy dress competition, a quiz, country dancing and an exciting range of displays are planned for all to enjoy, with delicious refreshments including a lunchtime barbecue.
THE recent Spring Fair for Leukaemia Research was a great success.
Held at Southill Community Centre, over £400 was raised and organisers are delighted with the support given by helpers and all who attended.
