TWO bodies believed to be missing teenagers Mathew Myburgh and Charlie Morrell have been discovered washed up close to where the boys were swept away by the sea at Lulworth Cove.
After almost a week of searching by land, sea and air, the first grim discovery was made just after 7.30am on shingle close to the east of the cove where both boys were swept away.
Both families had spent a tortuous week praying that a miracle would find them alive.
Joining in the search wherever possible, they had not wanted to give up hope, even after finding a trainer, a baseball cap and shell suit belonging to the boys.
After the first body was taken to Poole Hospital where a post mortem was due to take place yesterday afternoon, a second body was found by Dorset Maritime section, washed up not far from the first, also on the east side of Lulworth Cove just after 4pm.
It followed a search at high tide by Dorset Police Maritime section, which had continued their almost daily search of the cove.
The week-long search had employed more than 120 men and women, including specialist diving teams from Avon and Somerset Police, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and numerous volunteers.
Churchgoers and non-churchgoers have been praying for their families as well as their friend Richard Lawrence, who survived after being swept back on to rocks during the incident last Thursday.
