POLICE are hunting vandals who caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to cars parked in the Winton area of Bournemouth.
Residents were woken by the sound of smashing glass in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
When officers investigated they discovered damage to at least eight vehicles parked in six different roads.
Police believe two people may be responsible for the damage caused in Fortescue Road, Iddesleigh Road, Stokewood Road, Abbott Road, Truscott Road and Ripon Road.
A search of the area by police officers including a dog handler failed to locate those responsible and now officers investigating the crime have appealed for help from the public.
They were first called to the area just before 1am and hope someone may have seen the offenders.
Police have urged witnesses or anyone else with information to call Dorset Police on 01202 222222 or the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111. Mobile phone tariffs may apply.
