RECOVERY teams looking for two teenagers who were swept into the sea have searched a nearby cave after receiving information from a psychic.
Dorset Police say they are acting on all information which they believe could prove useful in their search for Matthew Myburgh, 16, and Charlie Morrell, 15.
This includes information provided by psychics, which was passed on to Charlie's sister, Rosie Morrell.
Chief Inspector Nick Maton, said: "We have carried out searches based on information we have received, where the coastguard checked a cave close to a sewage pipe.
"We will take help and assistance from anyone based on whatever intelligence is available to us. We will carry out separate searches if it offers the family peace of mind but we won't put the coastguard or our staff at risk."
On Monday, personnel carried out a search on the request of the Myburgh family, who had received information which initially came from a group of psychics, that Charlie could still be alive but injured, above the water line in a cave somewhere along the coastline.
Chief Inspector Maton, said: "The marine unit could not get close enough to the cliffs because of the swell and we would have been risking their lives by sending them there.
"We showed our video of the area to the coastguard and they said they could access the site using ropes.
"They got down to the cave with torches and shouted in to the entrance but did not find anything. We may go back if the weather improves and our marine section will continue to advise us."
Yesterday the police helicopter was used to search for the boys and will continue to search the coast from first light today.
