REMEMBER that Jack Black flick in which a bunch of uptight brats learned how to loosen up with lessons from Hendrix, Plant and Page?

Ridiculous, wasn't it? That could never happen, not in real life.

Wrong. And here's the evidence.

Paul Green set up The School of Rock to cater for the rockin' needs of 120 pupils aged nine to 17. He makes sure they know how to play Zappa and Sabbath, as well as Smoke of the Water presumably, and is quite happy to dish out Cowell-like admonishments to those who can't cut the mustard.

We see him showing his charges how to apply eye liner, make the requisite rock hand signals, leer at the crowd and take a guitar solo. He lands the best of the bunch a gig at a Frank Zappa fans' convention where they play with a member of Zappa's band.
