YEOVIL Town boss Steve Thompson believes arch-rivals Weymouth can pull off an FA Cup shock at Nottingham Forest.
The Glovers manager should know - last weekend he led his side to a stunning 3-0 victory over Gary Megson's men at Huish Park.
Now Thompson, who took over the Yeovil hot-seat from Gary Johnson last month, is helping his Terras counterpart Garry Hill plot Forest's first round downfall.
He said: "As soon as the draw was made I spoke with Garry Hill and passed on a few tips.
"I've known him for a long time, going back to his days at Dagenham and Redbridge, and it's nice to be able to help an old friend.
"Obviously Weymouth go to Forest as big underdogs but there is no reason why they can't cause an upset up there.
"After all, Garry has a great pedigree in the FA Cup and certainly knows how to mastermind cup shocks.
"He's done it before and I don't see why he can't again.
"Forest are not invincible and Weymouth have to believe they can do it. Certainly I believe they can and hopefully I've given Garry a few useful pointers. "
Thompson, previously linked with the manager's position at the Wessex Stadium, believes the Terras are good bets to win promotion this season.
"I've been at Yeovil quite a few years now and although the two clubs are old rivals, I always keep an eye on their fortunes," he said.
"It's nice to see Weymouth doing well and under Garry I'd say they are in a good position to win promotion back to Conference National this season.
"I've heard it said that Weymouth are looking to use Yeovil as a blueprint and it's nice to hear that.
"It would be good for the area if they do get promoted and become a big non-League force once again, like they once were."
With Yeovil facing a trip to Macclesfield in the first round on November 5, Thompson hopes his club and the Terras emerged unscathed from their respective ties.
"We've both got tricky away games but it would be fantastic if we both won and were drawn against each other in round two," he said.
"It would be tremendous for the supporters - lets hope it happens."
After the 3-0 drubbing at Huish Park, Forest boss Megson invited two fans into the dressing room to voice their frustrations.
John Enever and Andrew Peel approached Megson and he allowed them to let off some steam after the match.
"We told him it was unacceptable and he said 'I completely agree with you - would you like to tell the players for yourselves?" said Enever.
"We thought he was calling our bluff, but at the end of the game in we went.
"He asked us not to make it personal or abusive and we stuck to that.
"The players were shocked but we tried to keep it constructive."
Forest, European champions in 1979 and 1980, are currently 11th in League One. Megson said: "I decided to do it because I felt it was important for the players to understand what the supporters are thinking and why they are getting upset.
"The supporters didn't rant and rave, they were very eloquent and sensible.
"The players listened and I didn't disagree with anything they said."
