ROLLO and Binx, a loveable dog duo from a Dorset animal sanctuary, have been nominated for a walk-on part in a TV show on Tuesday night.
The Margaret Green Foundation, which has its headquarters in Church Knowle, near Wareham, volunteered five-year-old Rollo, a chocolate Labrador, and his inseparable partner Binx, a terrier cross breed, for the cameo appearance in a bid to find them a loving home.
Friends hope the pair's winning personalities will appeal to prospective dog owners in Dorset when they are introduced to the nation at 5pm on ITV1's The Paul O'Grady Show, which does a monthly feature on rescued animals looking for new homes.
The foundation's deputy manager Helen Chittock, said: "The show rang us up to say they were looking for a dog to feature on the programme.
"They are devoted to each other, they came to us together and we're looking for an owner who would be prepared to take them both on.
"They are lovely dogs, but because they come together it has proved a bit of a problem finding them a home. It's a big commitment.
"They go for walks together, eat together and share a pen together. They are very friendly and get on well with children and other dogs. The two halves really make a whole."
The foundation, which was set up more than 20 years ago, hopes the show will help raise awareness about rescue dogs in the region and added it has plenty of other dogs in need of homes currently living in its kennels near Blandford.
Anyone interested in adopting an animal from the foundation should telephone the organisation on 01929 471 340.
