TWO of Dorset's most famous beauty spots star alongside actress Emma Thompson in her latest film Nanny McPhee, which premieres tomorrow.

The film tells the story of Mr Brown, who is in desperate search of a nanny to control his seven naughty children, who have driven away 17 nannies.

But the tearaways finally meet their match when the mysterious Nanny McPhee, played by Thompson, arrives at the door.

The cast descended on Lulworth in June 2004 and had to use a helicopter to land more than six tonnes of equipment at Durdle Door and the Man O'War Bay for the film's beach scene, where the children learn of the arrival of Mrs Quickly.

Producer Lindsay Doran said: "I thought the director, Kirk Jones, was crazy to choose that location. It was a long walk from our base camp to the cliffside and then 170 steps down a very steep cliff to the sand.

"The equipment was flown in and out by helicopter, but the human beings had to walk up and down those steps several times each day, including when we wanted to use the toilet.

"But now when I look at that beautiful sequence I don't think about the steps or the cold or the wind, I only admire the beauty of the location."

When the filming was over, Emma Thompson held a party for cast, crew and the production team in Lulworth Castle.

The star said of Lulworth: "It's just about the best venue for a party I have ever encou-ntered. A magical place."
