MATT Kiely has taken over as captain of Bournemouth and is keen to meet any newcomers to the club as they build up for their return to South West Division Two rugby.
Kiely was a key member of the Lions team that swept to the Southern Counties South title last season, suffering only three defeats in 22 games.
And he has taken over as skipper from Guy Spencer, who has relinquished the role after inspiring a new spirit into the Chapel Gate camp.
Bournemouth do not begin their South West Division Two East campaign until Saturday, September 3 when they host Keynsham.
But they intend to hit the ground running after their promotion and have a players' meeting tomorrow (Thursday, June 30) in their clubhouse at Chapel Gate, starting at 7pm.
Bournemouth chairman Doug Warren said: "All players are welcome including those new to the area and who are looking to play.
"We have a new captain in Matt Kiely who was so instrumental in us gaining promotion and he is keen to meet all players as we prepare for the new season.
"There will be some touch rugby afterwards to get the boys used to a ball again but training proper starts the following Tuesday on July 5 at 7pm.
"Director of coaching David Dunn returns assisted by Mark Burley, who has recently passed his level three coaching award.
"Training will continue on Tuesday and Thursday nights throughout the summer to which all are invited, especially new players who relish the challenge of the higher division."
Bournemouth begin their league campaign with two home fixtures, the second is against Cleve on September 10.
They then travel to Henley Wanderers two weeks later before they host Salisbury on October 1 in the first of eight local derbies they face during the 2005-2006 programme.
The second is at Meyrick Park against Oakmeadians on November 19, quickly followed by an encounter with Wimborne at Chapel Gate on December 3.
Swanage and Wareham - Dorset and Wiltshire's top dogs for the past decade - host the Lions on December 12 before Bournemouth entertain Oakmeadians on December 17.
Bournemouth's post-Christmas derbies begin at Salisbury on February 18.
Then they host Swanage and Wareham on April 8 in their penultimate match before travelling to Leigh Park on April 22 to wind up their programme against Wimborne.
