BRADLEY Thomas has been transfer-listed by Weymouth.

Boss Garry Hill has told the 21-year-old defender he is free to leave the Terras as the manager continues to ring the changes at the Wessex Stadium following a disappointing start to the season.

Hill - whose side host Yeading in Conference South tomorrow (1pm) - said the former Peterborough United youngster can go because he is unlikely to break into his first team.

He told Echosport: "Bradley has been put on the transfer list because at this moment in time I can't see him getting first team football with us.

"I see Bradley's best opportunity of playing for us coming at right back but in that position we're quite strong with Steve Tully and a couple of other options.

"At 21 years of age Bradley is at a stage where he needs to be playing first team football and I just can't guarantee him that.

"The best thing for all parties is if Bradley gets away - either on loan or a permanent basis - and gets regular appearances under his belt."

Thomas joined Weymouth from Peterborough United in January this year, under former boss Steve Johnson.

The former England under-21 international initially moved on loan but later signed a permanent deal with the Terras, agreeing a fresh one-year contract with Hill this summer.

His only appearance this season came in Weymouth's last outing - a miserable 4-0 at St Albans City last Bank Holiday Monday.

Hill, who allowed summer signing Richie Hanlon to join Cambridge United earlier this week, added: "I've got nothing against Brad, he is a smashing lad who is a pleasure to work with.

"But sometimes a change of scenery can do the world of good for people.

"He may well go out on loan, work hard, be recalled and

force his way into my plans, who knows?

"But sometimes these decisions have to be taken, like with parting company with Richie Hanlon

earlier this week."

Hill will again be without winger Steve Clark for the visit of Yeading tomorrow, with the former Southend man facing the last game of a three-match ban.

Fellow winger Darren Wheeler (ankle) is also rated as 'highly doubtful' to face the Middlesex- based club who are unbeaten on their travels this season.

But midfielders Shaun Wilkinson and Shaun Carey are back in contention after coming through the midweek friendly at Portland United unscathed.

"Wilko came through without a problem against Portland, which was pleasing, and he is available to me again," said Hill.

"Shaun Carey is also in contention and after Richie Hanlon's departure, the central midfield boys obviously now know their chances of playing are increased.

"I've got a few options in the middle of the park and it may well be that Wilko and Shaun Carey play some part against Yeading."

Hill admits the visit of Ding is crucial, with the Terras looking to restore pride after the heavy defeat at St Albans.

"We've won our two home games so far this season and we need another good victory tomorrow," he said.

"Our results on the road have been poor this season and when that happens getting three points at home becomes even more important.

"Facing Yeading will be a big test because although they have lost their three homes games, they won away at Bognor Regis and Welling which is no mean feat.

"We need to be determined, at times patient, and ensure we take our chances when they come along and if we do hopefully we'll get back to winning ways."
