PAUL Morrell believes his young reserves need to be more ruthless and kill opponents off when they have control of games.
Morrell's side ended up hanging on for their second win by 2-1 at home to Blandford on Saturday - a game the former Bourne-mouth defender felt they should have wrapped up after scoring twice in the first half hour - and he doesn't want a repeat when they host Wareham Rangers at the Avenue Stadium tonight (7.45pm).
"We are going to control games because we have some very good young players, but I felt we eased up on Saturday and allowed Blandford to get back into it," said Morrell.
"Instead of stepping up a gear in the second half we dropped back a couple and almost paid the penalty.
"Tonight Mark Morris will be watching and with more suspensions following Monday's first team game, he'll no doubt be looking to see if there are any players in my side ready to step up.
"It provides a great chance for young defenders like Dan Bulley, Jack Cannon and Nathan Walker to make an impression so hopefully there will be no taking the foot of the pedal in this one."
Striker Warren Byerley returns to action after missing two first team games through suspension while Monday's other un-used substitutes Antony Griffin and Dave Allen are also expected to play.
Magpies: Steel, Hill, Walker, Cannon, Raj Chengadu, Griffin, Oliver, Smith, Dave Allen, Monks, Wonnacott, Dominic Allen, Birch, Byerley, Bulley, Joryeff, Symes, Senior, Gunputh, Emburey.
