THIS week's open air film at Corfe Castle features the king of derring-do - Errol Flynn - in Michael Curtiz's classic swashbuckler, The Sea Hawk.
Flynn plays, Geoffrey Thorpe, an adventurous and dashing pirate, who feels that he should raid the Spanish ships for the good of merrie England. Hurrah!
In one such battle, he boards a Spanish vessel to find the beautiful Dona Maria (Brenda Marshall). In a heartbeat he makes it his mission to board her too, but, being of royal blood she will have nothing to do with him because of his pirating ways.
Subsequently he is captured, escapes and returns to England to right several wrongs, fight a lot of duels and set sail for the Spanish Main... well, Dona Maria.
