SPOOKILY similar in theme to the British horror film The Descent, Bruce Hunt's subterranean thriller promises gore and thrills aplenty in the dark.
A group of biologists stumble upon an ancient, untouched ecosystem in a labyrinthine network of caves beneath a 13th century Romanian abbey.
Desperate to study the caves for new life forms, the biologists hire experienced cavers Jack (Cole Hauser) and Tyler (Eddie Cibrian) to lead an expedition deep beneath the earth.
The thrill-seeking brothers decide to test their latest invention: a scuba diving kit which allows the user to remain submerged for up to 24 hours without coming to the surface.
As Jack and Tyler descend into the caves, followed by scientists including Charlie (Piper Perabo) and Buchanan (Morris Chestnut), they stumble upon a fascinating lost world, where a deadly species waits, hungry for fresh human flesh.
