THE biggest-ever festival of music, leisure and sport to be seen in Poole Park, rolls out over the Bank Holiday weekend.
The two-day Fest '05 features heaps of attractions to listen to, watch, take part in, relax with and eat from 11am to 7pm on Sunday, August 28 and 11am to 5pm on Monday.
Headlining the live music sessions, sponsored by Parkstone music venue Mr Kyps, is the one and only Mungo Jerry, whose best-selling In the Summertime was a massive hit 35 years ago.
The band will play on Sunday at 6pm, preceded by the Graham Mack Blues Band at 1pm, Rockin The Joint at 2.10pm, Don't Untie the Drummer at 3.20pm and RU40 at 4.30pm.
On Monday Derrin Nauendorf plays at 1pm, Rat Race at 1.45pm, the Ian Parker Band at 3pm and Sgt Pepper's Only Dart Board Band at 4.15pm.
"There's something for everyone to enjoy, including free sports, leisure and music," said Bob Lister, publicity officer for the charity.
"So come along and support the Friends of Poole Park with our fundraising summer event at the Poole Park Fest '05."
Co-ordinator Terry Smith said: "There will be just about every leisure pursuit including walking on water balloons, circus skills, art/craft/dance workshops, alternative health and therapy sessions, many craft and trade stalls, fun rides and children's activities."
KP Pools, which is sponsoring the event, will have some bubbling spas to soothe away the aches and pains of taking part in many of the sports on offer.
For those who have ever wanted to run away and join a circus, go no further than Big Top Mania Circus Skills to juggle or unicycle.
There are big prizes to be won in a draw, including a Condor Ferries trip, with entries to the Daily Echo stand and every £1 raised will go towards improving the park.
The Daily Echo bouncy castle will provide loads of fun each day and free parking is available at the Civic Centre.
To sign up for the Hydrazorb regional heat on Sunday, costing £5 for charity, call 0121 362 4011.
£1 buys you an Echo and a go on the bouncy castle - lookout for the Echo stand. See Saturday's Echo for full details of the event
