MULTI-million-pound plans to transform a gateway site in central Bournemouth will go on display today.
Visitors will be able to see proposals for vacant land between St Paul's Road and Wessex Way at an exhibition at Bournemouth Library today and tomorrow.
Rokscar, a partnership between Scarborough Development Group plc and Rokeagle, hopes to build high-quality office buildings, shops, leisure facilities and 182 residential apartments on the 1.95 acre site.
The developers believe the office buildings could attract companies looking to relocate their headquarters to Bournemouth and, together with the shops, could create around 660 jobs.
Jason Rockett, director of Scarborough Development Group, said: "St Paul's Square is an important site for Bournemouth which, as a gateway location, creates a powerful first impression of the town.
"After extensive consideration, we believe a mixed-use scheme which delivers excellent HQ-standard offices, alongside retail and residential provision, will offer the most benefit to the area both economically and socially."
And Andy Goodridge, development surveyor for Rokeagle, said: "We will be creating landmark buildings for Bournemouth, on a site where redevelopment is long overdue.
"The proposed design of the buildings is of great significance, achieving architectural merit as well as utilising the site in the best possible form."
The exhibition will be open to the public from 11am to 6pm on Friday and from 10am to 2pm on Saturday. Representatives of Rokscar will be on hand to answer any questions about the plans.
