THE Magic Roundabout was never for adults. Sure, if you're a dab hand with a script, you can spin a few amusements for the whole family, but it's tough when you're not Pixar.
TMR got a fair old pasting on its release for a weak script and lack of jokes.
Certainly there are sharper kids' films around and there was excellent potential to flesh out the story, but this is The Magic Roundabout; it's not aimed at anyone over four feet!
In his lust for sugar, Dougal unwittingly releases Zebedee's nemesis Zeebad from his roundabout prison and traps Florence inside.
Good v Evil, happy music, jolly voices, bright colours, perfect kiddy magic.
