TALK about critical suicide. Let's take a decent crime drama, stack it with musical numbers and have the actors occasionally break into song.
Surprisingly, however, this is pretty good.
Ripley Holden's (David Morrissey) amusement arcade has been open only one night when a body turns up on the floor.
Looks like he was killed in the flats behind the arcade, which Holden also owns, and dragged into the place.
Unsurprisingly DI Peter Carlisle (David Tennant) has his eye on Holden.
Blackpool is a brave effort which just about comes off.
Had the songs not been mimed and their integration more seamless, this could have been something really special.
