RISING star Brian Stock admitted it was "a dream come true" to net Cherries' opening goal at the Fitness First Stadium at Dean Court.
Stock grabbed the first of three memorable goals as Cherries celebrated their return to Dean Court with a convincing 3-0 win over Division Two rivals Wrexham on Saturday.
His 29th-minute opener was followed by a magnificent individual effort from James Hayter on the stroke of half-time before Jason Tindall bagged a stunning volley to complete the scoring in the second half.
Stock, who at 19 was the youngest player on the pitch, was a 10-1 chance with the bookies to hit the first goal and was watched by his mother Margaret, father Peter, brother Dave and nephew Adam.
He said: "I felt confident I was going to score the first goal here and I told a couple of my friends to have a bet on me.
"It's great to go down in the record books as the first scorer here, but I was just grateful to be in the starting line up.
"I was lucky because I passed a late fitness test. I have been struggling with a calf strain this week and it was touch and go.
"The main thing was that we won. I'm pleased we put on a good performance and scored three goals for the crowd because they really got behind us."
Cherries captain Eddie Howe paid tribute to goal hero Stock, an unassuming character who looks destined for a big future in the game after coming through the ranks at Dean Court.
Howe said: "Brian doesn't really say too much and he keeps pretty quiet. He didn't say anything about his goal in the changing room, but I'm sure his mates will be hearing about it because it was a great finish.
"I think the three goals we scored were as good as any I've seen us score before."
Cherries boss Sean O'Driscoll also heaped praise on Stock whose impressive recent form restricted fit-again midfielder Richard Hughes to a place on the substitutes' bench.
O'Driscoll said: "It would have been easy to bring Richard straight back in, but Brian deserves his chance.
"He's carrying a slight calf strain which is why we brought him off, but he deserved his standing ovation and hopefully that will be the first of many."
O'Driscoll, whose side are 15th in Division Two and just three points adrift of a play-off place, added: "The result was the perfect end.
"I think everybody was a bit wary of making an early mistake, but once they settled down and got used to the place, they played some great football at times.
"We scored three smashing goals and handled the situation very well which was important.
"I know there's been some teething problems, but the boys wanted to play their part and their part was to put on a good performance and win the game which they did."
Ryan Woolfenden netted twice as Cherries beat Portsmouth 3-1 in a youth team friendly at Chapel Gate on Saturday.
Also on target for Cherries was Tim Bond, one of four trialists given a run-out by youth team manager Joe Roach. Cherries are away to Swindon in the Alliance Under-17 South West League on Saturday.
Cherries: Harvell, Cummings (Taylor, 52), Bond, Day, Gregory, Rodriguez, Bennett, Rixon (O'Connor, 74), Woolfenden, Stillman (Fennemore, 80), Burt. Unused sub: Miller.
