GUITAR legend Nils Lofgren may have toured the world and entertained millions with Bruce Springsteen's E Street band, but he can't wait to return to Southampton and the intimate surroundings of The Brook tomorrow.
The two dates on November 14 and 30, are both sell-outs and are his first in this country for three years.
While last time around saw him majoring on his brilliant acoustic set, the lucky hundreds can expect a bit more noise and energy during a two hours-plus full electric set with three-piece backing band.
"I think British audiences are certainly the best in terms of knowledge," he said.
"They love to rock 'n' roll, but they really appreciate the intimacy of more subtle material. It's always a challenge playing here and very rewarding."
The 26-date British tour will also be promoting the 50-year-old guitar ace's new album, Breakaway Angel.
The Brook also welcomes Welsh singer-songwriter Martyn Joseph on December 2 and former Level 42 frontman Mark King's solo show on December 7. Details on 023 80 555366.
