Kirsten Sheridan marks her feature film directing debut with a big-screen version of Enda Walsh's hit stage play, Disco Pigs, which has been adapted by the writer herself.
Pig (Cillian Murphy) and Runt (Elaine Cassidy) are born at almost the same time in the same Dublin hospital - spiritual twins to different mothers.
The pair forge an indestructible and almost telepathic bond, shutting out their friends, families and the rest of the entire outside world.
As Pig and Runt make the difficult transition from adolescence into adulthood, external forces and their own desire for independence threaten to divide them.
Murphy played Pig in the acclaimed stage version, and reprises the role in Sheridan's film.
