STRIKER Simon Gale returns to the Bridport squad at Welton Rovers tomorrow after six weeks out with a heel injury.

Gale comes into a side anchored to the foot of the Screwfix Direct Premier Division after losing seven successive league games.

The Bees are desperate for goals and points, but just one of each tomorrow will do very nicely for the Bees' beleagured boss Derek Walkey.

He said: "Simon is back in the squad and he will be looking to get back in the side. We will be looking to him to score a few goals and get us out of a difficult situation."

He added: "We have to get what we can out of games at the moment. The main thing is to stop the rot and get the confidence back into the side.

"But it won't help us that they have just appointed a new manager and their players will be keen to impress. The timing is against us but that's the way it goes."

Welton are in the lower mid-table region with three wins and four draws from their 13 games. Their new manager is the former Bath City midfield player Dave Payne.

Bridport are without unavailable midfield player Simon Austin and forward player Andy Cleal could also be missing at West Clewes.

Cleal is named in the squad but he could be on his way to Dorset League Dorchester United, who have given the Bees seven days notice of approach.

Bridport pulled off one of their best results of last season at Welton, where two goals from Peter Knox gave them a 2-1 win two days before Christmas.

* Bridport Reserves are home to Blandford United in the Dorset Combination League. They will be without midfielders Marcus Whitfield and Adam Watson, who starred in last week's win against Dorchester Town Reserves last week but are unavailable tomorrow.
