AFTER three league games against sides in the lower reaches of the Dr Martens Eastern Division, Dorchester take their promotion challenge to the home of one of the in-form clubs tomorrow.
Cambridgeshire side Histon, who moved up to the Dr Martens after winning the Eastern Counties League in the 1999-2000 season, have soared up to fourth place in the table with an unbeaten run that stretches back to early September.
And on Tuesday night they extended their winning streak with a remarkable 7-1 hammering of local rivals Spalding United - themselves 5-1 winners away to St Leonard last Saturday - in the Dr Martens Cup.
"I don't know how much to read into the mid-week result because the league cup has a habit of throwing up unexpected scores when clubs experiment with their sides," said Morris. "But from reports I have had Histon are a more than useful side.
"But it's a long trip with a difficult game at the end of it, so our attitude will have to be spot on if we are to get something out of it."
Jamie Brown, Morris' summer signing from BAT Sports whose all action displays in midfield have earned him a lot of fans at the Avenue Stadium, is missing tomorrow after suffering a groin strain in the League Cup win over Bashley.
But with skipper Matt Lonnon recovered from the chest infection that caused him to miss that game, Morris reckons the straight swap should leave his side unaffected.
"Matt will provide the energy levels that Jamie is noted for while Marcus Oldbury, who came in when Matt was missing at Dartford, has been playing well and will provide the vision and precision passes."
Simon Radcliffe, whose recent form has been a revelation, steps back into the side after dropping out on Tuesday with a long-standing work commitment but Phil Andrews and Martyn Sullivan continue on the injured list.
Sullivan's suspected broken wrist was still to swollen on Wednesday for doctors to determine the extent of the injury while Andrews is struggling to shake off a knee ligament injury sustained in the win over Tonbridge Angels last Saturday.
