The best club nights to be seen at this weekend

In the Middlerow

FUNKIER than George Clinton, as English as tea and scones, Middlerow bring their brand new single Today's The Day to Elements on Firvale Road tonight. Featuring 26-year-old UK garage heroes Carl H and Ed Case, and the two defining voices of the UK underground - rapper Spee and ragga legend Sweetie Irie - the group have mixed up the diverse elements of the world's most eclectic city.

Graham's last night

THOSE artful apes at Cheeky Little Monkey return to the Pier Showbar tonight for another patented dose of funky, chunky hardhouse.

Tonights's guests are Graham Eden and Rachael Shock, Dan Madams and resident Jody Osman. The night will be tinged with a little sadness for Cheeky regulars, as Eden will be playing his last CLM prior to his retirement from DJing.

Six-hour set for Cliff

MAISON Profonde follows up Paul Sidoli's appearance at the Pier Showbar on November 10 with a special six-hour set by resident Cliff Lay on Saturday night.

"Every now and again we give our resident Cliff Lay free reign to do whatever he wants and play for the whole night," says promoter Steve Bray.

This Saturday clubbers can come and hear him do what he does best - work a crowd with his seamless blend of tough, twisted house music.

Christmas clubbing

CHRISTMAS events are starting to fall into place. Bump & Hustle's triumphant return will take place at a Boxing Day reunion at the Opera House, with special guests Maison Profonde. The Maison boys return on New Year's Eve for another double header, this time at K1. Room one will feature Gold versus The Purveyors. Maison will host Dave Chambers, Cliff Lay, Steve Bray and Daddy Funk in room two, Sean Holbrook and Martyn The Hat will host classic house in room three and Gary Ellis, Andy Mills and Martin Howes will run the Jazz Club in room four.
