Sandra Goldbacher chronicles the changing faces and fashions of the 1970s and 1980s in this bittersweet drama, about two friends growing up in the London suburbs.
Fiercely confident Marina (played by the TV soap escapee Anna Friel) reacts to her chaotic home life by pursuing as many men as she can.
Her quarry include her college lecturer (Kyle MacLachlan).
Best pal Holly (Dawson's Creek alumnus Michelle Williams) is far more introverted, and gladly trails in the wake of the magnetic Marina.
That is, until she falls head over heels for her best friend's gorgeous brother (Oliver Milburn).
Sexual tensions and petty jealousies then start to rapidly jeopardise the girls' 15-year friendship.
