Poole Council for Voluntary Service has won a special Green Apple Award for its innovative recycling ideas.
"If it can be recycled, PCVS recycle it. If it can be re-homed, PCVS re-home it. If it can be re-used, PCVS re-use it," commented the judges.
They were particularly impressed by the Green Exchange Board, a rescued piece of old pinboard, which sees all manner of items change hands instead of going to landfill.
The award comes from The Green Organisation and trophies were presented at a gala prizegiving ceremony in London by TV presenter Kate Garraway and Band of Brothers star Nick Aaron.
