BOURNEMOUTH AC's highly successful season was rounded off in style last week when two of the club's junior athletes were named as number one in the United Kingdom rankings.
Teenage starlet Charlotte Moore and distance specialist Colin McCourt were among a host of Bournemouth stars to be included in the UK's top 20.
Moore finished top of the pile in the under-17s' 800 metres event, clocking a British best time of 2m minutes 5.86 seconds, and in the 1,500m where she ran home in 4 mins 23.07 secs.
She is also ranked second best in Britain in the 400m (57.0 secs) and third in the 3,000m with a season's best time of 9 mins 53.48 secs.
McCourt clocked a UK best time of 3 mins 54.54 secs in the under-17 boys' 1,500m and also notched up the third highest time of 8 mins 38.94 secs in the 3,000m
Teenage distance star Louise Damen narrowly missed out on the number one spot in both the junior women's 3,000m and 5,000m event.
The 19-year-old set a second-best time of 16 mins 55.99 secs in the 5,000m and 9 mins 28.61secs in the 3,000m. She also got the 14th best time in the 1,500m.
Other Bournemouth athletes listed in the top 20 included Rachel Peacock, third in the triple jump with a jump of 12.10m, and Sian Scott, third in the 400m hurdles (60.50m).
Hurdler Jenni Molloy finished the year ranked 11th in the 400m event, clocking 63.6 secs, and Matthew Frampton threw 54.20m to finish seventh best in the hammer event.
These are just the latest successes in a year of great achievement for the King's Park club who also won two regional titles.
The junior boys' team will compete among the National Junior Boys' Southern Premier League elite next season after winning promotion from Divi-sion One this term.
BAC also ran out on top of the McDonalds Boys' League South-ern Division One thereby gaining promotion to the Southern Premier Division.
Another performance of note came from the junior girls who won the Young Athletes League National Auxiliary final in Birmingham for the second year in a row.
The senior women retained their UK National Women's League status, keeping them in the national top 30.
The Southern Men's League teams finished seventh and fifth in their divisions, respectively, while the Southern Women's team were 13th in their section.
The Dorset club's achievements were honoured at a trophy presentation evening when regional performance manager Martin Rush presented the prizes.
BAC chairman Paul Rees was the master of ceremonies for the evening, which opened with club president Wynne Munden paying tribute to the seven BAC athletes who have represented Great Britain this season.
The presentations, at Bourne-mouth Sports Club, were aimed at recognising the achievements of athletes who have competed regularly for the club.
