WEYMOUTH RESERVES 1 BEMERTON HEATH 0
WEYMOUTH Reserves moved to the top of the Jewson Wessex Combination League with a 1-0 success over Bemerton Heath at the Wessex Stadium last night, writes Paul Baker.
The Terras were always in control against their physical Wiltshire-based opponents and John Lamb almost put them in front early on with a shot that hit the post.
But Lamb made amends for the miss on 35 minutes when he delivered a great ball into the box for skipper Mark Nicholson to head home. Weymouth continued to dominate throughout the second period, but they were let down badly by a weak referee.
Time after time the official allowed late challenges, body checks and elbows to go unpunished and he amazed everyone by failing to produce the red card after Lamb had been pole-axed by the visiting keeper. However, Dave Kiteley's youngsters showed tremendous restraint to stretch their unbeaten league and cup run to 16 matches.

STURMINSTER NEWTON 0
STURMINSTER'S Steve Fowles did his side absolutely no favours at all when his clumsy 57th minute challenge sent Magpies teenager Steve Moore to hospital with a recurrence of the knee injury from which he has only just returned following weeks on the sidelines, writes David Swain.
Moore's misfortune appeared to galvanise the lack-lustre, former league leaders into action and three goals in the next five minutes transformed a game which had been heading for a scrappy stalemate into a comprehensive Magpies victory.
The stretcher carrying the unlucky Moore had scarcely cleared the pitch when Chris Evans nodded Dorchester in front after Carl Poore's free-kick was knocked back across goal by Ollie Cherrett.
Cherrett added a second a minute later before Magpies player-manager Mark Morris glanced in a header to make it 3-0 to the hosts.
Substitute Ryan Dovell wrapped it up in the 80th minute with the best of the bunch, unleashing a left foot shot into the far corner.
Dorchester wasted a catalogue of chances in an untidy first-half and they were grateful to goalkeeper David Elm for sprawling saves at the feet of Fowles and Watkins.
