A NEWLY-formed re-enactment group has been put through a full exercise at the historic Nothe Fort in Weymouth.
The Nothe Artillery Volunteers joined the Fort Cumberland Guard, their more experienced colleagues from Portsmouth, for the exercise which was carried out in full dress uniform.
They drilled with and fired their muskets in great clouds of gunsmoke and they also tackled parade and cannon drill together with a demonstration and display of their weapons.
The Volunteers are next due to be at the Fort on December 9 when they will be on parade and available for visitors to talk to about life in a Victorian barrack room.
