FORMER Bohemians duo Garreth O'Connor and Shaun Maher are poised to commit their short-term futures to Cherries after agreeing new one-year deals.

O'Connor and Maher were both offered terms last week and have told Cherries boss Sean O'Driscoll they are keen to stay at Dean Court.

Midfielder O'Connor is expected to sign an improved 12-month contract when his current deal expires at the end of June.

The 23-year-old Dubliner joined Cherries two years ago and O'Driscoll has decided to offer him a new contract rather than invoke the club's two-year option.

However, O'Driscoll has decided to take up the club's 12-month option on Maher, 24, who signed a one-year deal with a one-year option in August.

And Maher, who required stitches after suffering a facial wound during Cherries' friendly at BAT on Friday, has agreed to the club exercising the option.

O'Driscoll is expecting to hold further contract talks with the agents acting on behalf of Neil Young and Narada later this week.

Young and Narada have also been offered 12-month deals, although negotiations with both players are understood to be ongoing.

Details of the contract offers to the Cherries quartet were exclusively revealed by the Daily Echo on Saturday.
