A skip lorry smashed into a low bridge yesterday afternoon causing road and rail delays.
The skip smashed into the railway bridge between Crossways and West Knighton, and was sent hurtling off the back of the lorry.
The road was closed while emergency services assessed the damage to the bridge and cleaned up hydraulic fluid that had spilled on to the road surface.
All trains were stopped while a Railtrack inspector carried out an investigation following the incident at 12.55.
He gave the all-clear and after half an hour the road was re-opened and normal train services were resumed.
The driver of the lorry, which belonged to a Swanage-based company, was taken to hospital with minor injuries. No other passengers or vehicles were involved in the accident.
A police spokesman said: "Anybody with information should call the road policing department on (01305) 226865."
