SNORKELLING for softies and heathland safaris are just two of more than 80 events lined up for this year's Purbeck Aware festival.
A programme of activities including cut-price trips to see the World Heritage Jurassic Coast will be on offer between May 25 to June 16.
The ninth annual festival will include walks and talks on Purbeck's unique wildlife and reduced rate travel on the Swanage Railway. Scheduled festival events include safaris on 4x4s across heathland within army ranges and dolphin spotting off Durlston.
Ruth Nicholson, Purbeck district council's tourism and countryside officer, said: "There will be lots of reduced rate trips to see the newly acclaimed World Heritage Jurassic Coast." Snorkelling for softies takes place at Kimmeridge Bay which is internationally famous for its wealth of marine wildlife.
A free programme guide is available on website www.purbeck-dc.gov.uk or at any Purbeck information centre or on tel 01929 552740.
Purbeck Aware month is organised by the Purbeck Heritage committee - a partnership of key organisations concerned with Purbeck.
