WESSEX proved their worth to the region as their players and coaches played an integral part in the South West's success at the Inter Regional Championships in Stoke.
The under-15 and under-17 boys' squads both walked off with their respective silverware while the girls finished as runners-up in both age-groups.
The under-15 boys were particularly impressive on their way to victory with Wessex's Robert Flay, Scott Frame, Richard Collins and Chris Dawe all making vital contributions in a 25-5, 25-15 final win over the East.
The under-17s were made to work a bit harder for their success, having to come from behind in their pool match against favourites the East.
But, by the time they reached the semi, the Wessex sextet of Mark Pitman, James Stickland, Drew Flanagan, Aaron Day, Ben Adamson and David Mapplebeck were the settled first six.
A 2-1 semi-final victory over the North set up a final clash with the East and the South West repeated their earlier feat to see off the favourites 2-1 in a classic battle of wills.
