THREE nurses from a Poole special school are hoping to magic up some much-needed funds during a sponsored walk.
Penny Parsons, Sally Jenner and Hazel Thomas will don fairy wings and wands for a 20-mile hike along the Dorset coast.
They have organised the event to raise money for the medical department at Langside School.
The school, which helps children with physical disabilities and learning difficulties, is having to cater for increasing numbers of pupils with complex needs. In order to cope, it needs to update and extend its medical facilities.
The three nurses' contribution will be to walk from Kimmeridge to Sandbanks in June in fancy dress.
Headteacher John Ashby said: "I am proud of them. I think it is a marvellous effort because it is not going to be easy to achieve."
Mr Ashby is appealing for anyone who would like to sponsor the fairies to call the school on 01202 518635.
"We are looking for any support, whether it be a donation to the building or sponsorship for the walk," he added.
