POLICE reinforcements from Devon were called to help break up a fight involving a group of amateur boxers at Bridport's Royal Oak pub.
Local officers called for help from colleagues across the county border before moving in to break up the brawl, involving around 100 people.
The fight started around midnight on Saturday and one person was injured, requiring hospital treatment.
Around 30 officers eventually moved in to halt the punch-up and two people were arrested.
A police spokesman said the landlord then shut the pub voluntarily ahead of his usual 1am closing time.
He said mostly Dorset police were involved in containing the incident but they had waited for a small number of additional officers from the Devon and Cornwall force.
