A Weymouth church has been celebrating its own 50th anniversary.
Lanehouse Rocks Methodist Church in Lynch Lane marked the occasion with a flower festival and exhibition of photographs, which showed the church's history from its foundation in 1952 to the present day.
Churchgoers, friends and visitors enjoyed the Golden Flower Festival, held in the church on Saturday, which featured flowers of every shape and colour.
The photographic exhibition told how the first church building was launched 50 years ago at a cost of just £820 to the congregation. It also explained how the church came to its present Lynch Lane site after a donation of land by a local man and how services were held in a wooden hut until the present church building, which dates from 1968, was constructed.
The festivities, which were enjoyed by all and brought back many treasured memories, closed yesterday with a special anniversary service for all the congregation, conducted by the minister, the Rev Bill Gates.
