VISITORS to the Upwey Wishing Well and tea room attraction in Weymouth can enjoy the spectacular sight of its well dressing scenes.
A wall near the well has been decorated with flowers and other natural growths to depict a unicorn and a lion, underlining celebrations for the Queen's golden jubilee next month.
Well dressing co-ordinator Maggie Cooke said: "Nearly 70 people of all ages helped with the dressing, which took us four intensive days of hard work to complete.
"We tried to use golden leaves and flowers where we could and all the leaves, flowers, seeds and other growths are all natural. We have used no wild flowers or anything synthetic for the well dressing."
Upwey Wishing Well owners Viv Harrison said: "I think it is a very good well dressing and a very topical one as well.
"We do well dressing here every year and it is nice that this year should mark the Queen's golden jubilee."
The choice of display had a unique link with the site stretching back 115 years.
Viv explained: "It was a particularly appropriate choice because the arches round the well were put up to mark Queen Victoria's golden jubilee in 1887."
