Former Poole all-rounder Pete Lewis has joined the ranks of the Dorset Over-50s side for its opening matches in the English Cricket Board's 50+ competition which starts with a fixture against Wiltshire at Warminster on Wednesday May 22.
After he hit 49 against Berkshire Over-50s in a friendly match, Lewis, who now plays for Corfe Mullen, was selected for the team which also meets the Isle of Wight at Cowes on Wednesday, May 29. The following week Dorset play Hampshire at Calmore.
In the Berkshire match, played at Wimborne, the visitors were restricted to 155-8 from their 45 overs. Blandford's Colin Moxham hit 56 as Dorset won by five wickets in the 41st over.
