PUB goers are facing the razor's edge at the Chalk and Cheese in Maiden Newton - a shaving session in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
Six villagers have pledged to have their heads shaved for charity, while Alan Goff has vowed to have his bushy sideboards cut off and Steve Hobson's moustache is to go under the knife.
Even landlady Helen Yates, who runs the pub with husband Shaun, is joining in - she's having her eyebrows shaved.
Mrs Yates said: "Everybody in the village is joining in the fundraising.
"The newsagent has been putting leaflets into the papers, and there are posters at the shops and garage.
"We are also going to the Greenford School where pupils will donate ten pence each for a heart shaped balloon and sticker."
The sponsored shave is taking place at the pub from 7.30pm onwards on June 1 with a raffle and other events to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
The six volunteers having their heads shaved are Tim Vyner, Adrian Burgess, Christian Rook, Ray O'Donovan, Ross O'Donovan and James Goff. Martyn Clovier will be donning a British Heart Foundation mascot's costume - a big red heart with a tuft on its heads - to drum up more cash on the night
Mrs Yates said Mike Goff may also be having his beard shaved and that Steve Hobson's moustache was coming off for only the third time since he'd first grown it.
She added: "Andrea from Mirror Mirror in Dorchester will be doing the honours. Everybody is welcome on the night and we hope to raise as much money as we possibly can. A few of us have had relatives affected by heart problems and the whole community is pulling together for this event.
"Everyone has a heart and you never know when you might need the help of the British Heart Foundation."
The pub has already raised some money from the sale of its old chairs. Anyone who wants to offer sponsorship is urged to call (01300) 320600.
