A MAN has been arrested in connection with the killing of soldier Glen Hudson in a Bournemouth nightclub last year.

Mr Hudson, 35, an army physical training instructor was shot in the head in Elements in December.

Last night Dorset murder squad detectives swooped on an address in London and arrested a 24-year-old man.

Detective Supt Phil James said: "A 24-year-old man has been arrested by Dorset police officers in the London area.

"The man has been detained in London and is being interviewed by Dorset officers."

Mr James added: "We have also executed five search warrants in the London area in connection with the investigation."

The precise location and time of the arrest are not being revealed.

Last Thursday the Daily Echo revealed that a £10,000 reward had been offered to catch the gunman.

A statement from Mr Hudson's family, issued at the time urged people to come forward with information, anonymously if necessary.

Mr Hudson was a physical training instructor with the 1st Battalion of the Royal Horse Artillery at Tidworth. He was nicknamed Frank after the former boxing champion Frank Bruno.

Police believe December's tragedy at an MTV Lick Party started with an argument between two men which resulted in a friend of one of the men being shot through the nose.

That man, from Richmond in Surrey, survived, but the bullet carried on for several yards before striking Mr Hudson in the head.

Last week Mr James said: "There were up to 60 people in the vicinity of the shooting and so far only a minority have come forward."

A team of 50 detectives has been working on the case.
