YOUNGSTERS from Weymouth will be fired up when they take part in a tribute to one of the greatest classical composers.
Members of WOW, the resort's operatic workshop will be joining the orchestra of the Bournemouth Philharmonic Society to perform in Totally Tchaikovsky - to raise funds for the ensemble.
The programme, to be presented at Weymouth Pavilion on Saturday, May 25, at 7.30pm (tickets, £12), includes excerpts from Romeo and Juliet, the Violin Concerto, Eugene Onegin, Sleeping Beauty and, of course, the 1812, accompanied by two full-size replicas of cannons used in the early 18th century!
The Pavilion hosts the resort's first Country and Western Festival this weekend - from tomorrow until Sunday - with a Wild West show, line-dancing workshops, a country dance evening and a concert by Raymond Froggatt.
