SPORTS therapist Colin Chapman has launched a weekly fun run along Weymouth beach to raise funds for schoolchildren.
The first run set off last Friday with support from a host of participants and Colin is hoping to build the event into a major fundraiser.
Money raised over the summer will be shared among schools in Weymouth and Portland to buy vital teaching and learning equipment. The initiative is supported by the borough council.
Colin is inviting people of all ages and abilities to join in the runs which will be run over two and five-mile courses.
Colin, who runs Bodywork Sports Injury and Sports Massage Clinic at New Look gym in Mercery Road, Weymouth, said: "The first one went well but we're hoping for more support for the initiative over the summer. We're inviting anyone who fancies an easy jog to come and have fun."
The runs start every Friday at 6.30pm from the Dorothy Inn, The Esplanade. Registration will take place from 6pm to 6.20pm. Entry fee is £2.50.
